With the passing of the full moon the tides are high and the fish are about. There has been lots of decent size trevally in the river caught anywhere from Munna Point all the way down to Tewantin Marina. Flathead have been amongst the river around the sand flats near the river mouth and the frying pan. The best bait for Flathead is prawns and soft plastics. Tailor have also been around the river mouth and woods bay. The best way to target tailor is with a popper at the early hours of the morning and the late afternoon. Whiting have been amongst the river near munna point and the Sound Bridge. When heading up the river there a couple of good spots to catch bream, whiting and Flathead including the ferry crossing and Lake Cooriobah. The best baits for whiting are live baits such as worms and yabbies. The weather is forecasted to be sunny with little chance of rain. Its nice and cool, there is no better time to get out on the Noosa river and wet a line.

Until next week good luck from the boys at O Boats.

Flathead have been around the Munna Point area with bait fish and lures being the best forms of fishing. There has been reports of mangrove jack at the early hours of the morning around the Woods Bay area with mullet stips and live bait fish. There has been trevally and the odd yellowtail kingfish at the Noosa Sound mainly around structures such as the Sound bridge. It could be worth while dropping in a few crab pots as there are still some nice mud crabs around that are nice and full. Mud crabs have been showing up towards Lake Cooroibah Now that the showers have stopped and a clear week is forecasted there isn’t a better time to get outside cook a barbeque and drop a line.

Due to all of the rain, the Noosa River is starting to turn back to a dirty brown colour. With the winter months here, the bream are on the bite. Some good size bream are being caught around the deeper holes and structures of the river, with prawns and mullet strips being the preferred baits. A few tailor are starting to appear around the Noosa rivermouth and Woods bay mainly caught on pilchards and lures. It’s still worth while throwing a line in around the shallows of the sand banks towards the rivermouth, for there are still a few whiting around, preferably using live baits such as yabbies and worms. The crabbing has been on a path for the better especially with the dirtier water around. From Tewantin down towards the first lake there has been numerous reports of mud crabs being caught. There are a few showers forecasted over the next week, although a fine weekend ahead. With the dirtier water about there is no better time to drop a line and throw a pot out.

Until next week good luck from the boys at O Boats.
