Great Fun, Great Food, Great Adventure... a Great Day!!!

Noosa River Weekly Fishing Report

Carter and his mates had a great day out on the Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventure boat catching whiting and had the best birthday.

The school holidays are building up as well as the fishing activity with most of the action in the lower reaches of Noosa River. Good whiting were plentiful inside the river mouth and the Frying Pan on live worms and yabbies. Flathead up to 80cm or so were caught at the river mouth, Woods Point and Bay and on the drift in the Noosaville stretch as were a few Golden Trevally and cale cale.
Venturing up Weyba Creek there are a few whiting on the sand banks, bream and the odd flattie. The back of Noosa Sound produced whiting, beam and trevally.
Grunter bream up to 35cm are about in Noosa Sound, around the Tewantin area and before just Lake Cooroibah as are a few whiting and flathead.
If you have some live bait its worth trying in the evening for mangrove jack and the odd jew fish around Noosa Marina and between the top lakes.
Both tides are fishing ok but avoid the bottom of the tide as slows considerably then. Live worms, prawns, yabbies and baitfish work best but if not available try mullet strips, lures and your soft plastics.
With the holidays comes a lot of boating activity with fish shying off during the busy times, so get out early or have a late run and try the non-congested areas.
There looks to be the odd shower and storm during the this week however the weather is fining up for a sunny weekend. Good fishing and boat safe.

Until next week good luck from the guys at Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventures.
