Caity had a fab time out fishing on a Sunday’s Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventure tour. Up from Canberra she showed dad how it was done with a nice 32cm whiting.

A busy school holidays is seeing plenty of boats and anglers along with some good fishing. Whiting are in good numbers from the river mouth to Tewantin and a few big flathead around the Frying Pan and Woods Point. Bream are in the deeper water and a few tailor and trevally on the bite as well.
Weyba Creek is producing whiting on the sand banks, bream and estuary cod in the holes and flathead. The back of Noosa Sound good for a few bream, flathead and trevally. The Noosaville reaches from Munna Point to Tewantin is fishing well for whiting in the shallow waters especially on live worms or yabbies and a few bream and flathead. On the high tide try a few lures and plastics in Woods Bay for a few active trevally and maybe a jew fish or three.
Going up river there are whiting, flathead and bream before the Ferry crossing and just before Lake Cooroibah. Up between the top two lakes, evenings or after dark is firing for a few mangrove jack and school jew on lures or live baits.
The bottom of the tide is slow fishing but generally both tides are giving excellent rewards and if you can try live worms, yabbies, and baitfish for best results.
The waterways are very busy during the holidays so stick to the quieter spots, be conscious of others and boat safely. The weather looks awesome for the next week being mostly sunny throughout and reaching the top 20’s most days.
