Natalie and Charlie over from Toowoomba were stoked to land this thumper whiting on their Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventures trip.
It’s great to see the kids as well as the big kids have so much fun.
Well the school holidays are here and the river has got busy so the lower reaches were a bit quiet with a lot of timid fish about. However the river mouth still produced a few bream and flathead whilst in the Frying Pan there are whiting and flathead. The Woods Bay and Point is still good for flathead, tailor and some trevally and the back of Noosa Sound and Weyba Creek a few mangrove jack and trevally. Try the deeper holes and around the snags or structures.
It’s fairing a bit better up river where quieter with whiting, flathead and bream being caught right through from Munna Point to past the ski run and up to the mouth of Lake Cooroibah with a few chopper tailor thrown in as well.
If you venture up between the top lakes late into the evening with some livies or mullet strips you should get into some good sized jacks and jew too.
Both tides are fishing fine but avoid the bottom of each cycle if you can and if targeting whiting and bream live beach worms are the go.
With a bit of a downpour this week its worth taking a few crab pots with you as hopefully a few muddies will be on the move and washed out.
It looks like a few showers about this week but likely to fine up for another fabulous weekend on the Noosa River so good fishing and boat safely.
Until next week good luck from the guys at Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventures
