Noosa River Weekly Fishing Report

George from Peregian Beach was stoked to land this nice golden trevally caught at the river mouth when on our Noosa Fishing and Crab Tour.

Another good week of fishing with lower reaches faring best for flathead, trevally, tarwhine, bream and whiting. Try river mouth, frying pan and Woods Bay and the back of Noosa Sound and Tewantin Marina at night for the odd mangrove jack. Weyba Creek was good for estuary cod, flathead and bream and whiting on the sand flats through the Noosaville reaches.

Just before the ferry and Lake Cooroibah is also worth a try and both tides are fishing well towards each side of the high tide.

If you can get live bait as in herring, worms or yabbies it’s best otherwise prawns, mullet strips and cured worms are fine.

We expect the further you go up river the more catfish you will come across so keep to the lower reaches, snags and deeper holes.

With the recent deluge of rain we should see further mud crabs washed down so it’s worth dropping a pot while you are fishing.

The Easter forecast is looking magnificent throughout and remember safe boating and consider others as the waterways will be very busy.

Until next week good luck from the guys at Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventures.
