Noosa River Weekly Fishing Report

A couple happy anglers on a recent Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventure were Bob from Lestershire in the UK with his grunter bream and Keith from Melbourne with a nice whiting.

Fishing has been solid this week with several nice sized bream and flathead caught at the river mouth, whiting in the Frying Pan and large trevally at the Woods Point and Bay. Noosa sound and the Noosaville reaches produced some grunter bream, whiting and flathead as did around the Noosa Marina.

Further up river past the Tewantin ski run and up at Lake Cooroibah was good for trevally, flathead and the odd school jew.

Best successes has come from peeled prawns, live bait fish and blood worms for the whiting with both tides fishing well.

For those venturing out into the evening and night there were chopper tailor active on pillies and garfish off Munna Beach and at the river mouth.

Blue swimmer crabs are still in numbers in the Noosaville reaches to the Woods Bay with the odd legal male mud crab among many large females but are illegal to keep. We need some good rains to flush more numbers out.

There is the odd shower about this week among some nice sunny patches and some prevailing S East winds at time but the river is well protected from them.

Until next week good luck from the guys at Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventures.
