Weekly Fishing Report

Now that’s a cracker of a whiting at just under 40cm caught by Darren from Brisbane and a nice grunter bream with the help from his girls. He was using live yabby’s.

It was a great Australia Day weekend with plenty of nice whiting on the sand banks off Munna Point and in the frying pan. There were bream through the lower reaches and around the Tewantin areas. Trevally have been caught near Tewantin, the river mouth and in the deeper holes with the some nice flathead landed before the first lake down to Noosa Harbour area.

Both tides are good but the bottom of the tide is very quiet until running again. Try using live worms, yabbies or live baits if you can get some otherwise frozen prawns, baitfish or lures if not.

Only the odd shower forecast for most days this week with some strong southerly’s so stick to the river and protected areas to enjoy a great day on the Noosa River.

Until next week good luck from the boys at Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventures2014-01-23 13.54.37

Weekly Fishing Report

A massive 95cm flathead was landed and released on Noosa Fishing and crab adventures last Sunday.

Adam from Brisbane hooked about a 30cm fingermark and along came this huge flathead and grabbed it. He hung on to the fingermark so tight until he was hauled into the boat and then spat it out but too late as she was caught. Luckily she was returned to fight another day.

A great week for fishing with lots of whiting on the sand flats, flathead all through and trevally in the deeper parts of the river. The river mouth is still firing as is the frying pan area and Munna Point.  The Tewantin reaches and first lake is also fishing well.

Both tides are active but have a break over the change of each tide. If you can get live worms or baits you will do well but if not prawns will still work well.

With only the odd shower and storm predicted for the whole week, it looks another magic week on Noosa River.

Until next week good luck from the boys at Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventures

Weekly Fishing Report

Mrs Darby showed the boys how to do it with a nice bream when up from Swan Hill, Victoria whilst on holidays.

The fishing has been quite good despite the busy waterways still with lots of  varieties caught throughout the river. Best target areas are whiting on the sand flats opposite the dog beachand Noosaville reaches, mangrove jack in the deeper holes like at Munna Bridge and structures and a few tailor are still at the river mouth and trevally active in the Woods Bay.

Bream are throughout the lower reaches up to Tewantin, Lake Weyba and both sides of Lake Cooroiba. The odd good sized flathead have been landed up near the ferry and lower reaches.

Both tides are fishing well on the run and best times are early morning and late afternoon. If you can get live worms and bait fish you should do well otherwise try prawns and white bait.

Just the odd shower predicted again this week but all up it looks another awesome week on Noosa River.

Until next week good luck from the boys at Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventures.

It’s not always about landing the big one as Luca from #Melbourne was just happy landing a few grunter #bream whislt on his #holiday.

The #waterways have been packed with holiday makers causing the #fish to be a little timid in the main areas but we have still seen quite a few bream and #whiting caught with the odd mangrove jack, golden# trevally and #flathead. The best action has been around the river mouth and up at mouth of Lake Cooroibah with the Frying Pan and Woods Bay also giving good results.
Best times are early morning and late afternoon on either #tide and if you can get live worms and bait fish you should do well and #OBoatHire have fresh prawns also. Otherwise try some #lures and soft plastics away from the busy areas.
Please look out for swimmers and other #boaties when out on the #Noosa #river as there are still many vacationers enjoying many activities.
Just the odd late shower or storm predicted for the next week but all in all looks another awesome week on the water.  Until next week good luck from the boys at O Boats.Luka fishingcrabbingnoosarivertours www.noosariverandfishingadventures.com.au (2)

Happy 83rd birthday and great catch Margaret

DSC03202-1200Margaret celebrated her 83rd birthday with a nice #bream showing the young ones how to do it. Go Granny and well done.

The weather has been very kind for the #Christmas #holidays with everyone enjoying great times and #fishing. We have seen good catches of golden #trevally, #flathead and bream and the odd tailor, #whiting diamond trevally and mangrove jack landed also. We recommend staying away from the busy boated areas and try around #Tewantin and each side of Lake Cooroibah. There is also some action to be had early morning and late afternoon at the #river mouth and for best #bait options try #prawns, live #baits and #lures.

Both #tides are fishing well and please look out for swimmers and #boaties during this very busy time.

The Woods Bay and Lake Weyba is  worth a shot late in the day.

Just the odd late shower about for what looks like another perfect week on the water.  Until next week good luck from the boys at #Noosafishingandcrabbingadventures.

Shoua from #Melbourne up recently on a #fishing #tour was chuffed to land this nice trevally in the Woods Bay.

Best spots to target a few fish have been the both entrances of Lake Cooroibah, Woods Bay and the #river mouth.  There have been tailor, trevally and flathead in good numbers and the odd hairtail, mangrove jack and jewfish in the deeper waters. Whiting on the #sand flats and bream are still throughout the river system. The waters are going to be very hectic this week so we recommend early morning or late afternoon for best results. The #fish are taking #lures and pillies and if you can get some live bait it always gives you the edge.

The week looks fantastic to be on the water with only maybe a late storm towards the weekend and we take this opportunity to wish everyone a very merry #Christmas and safe boating.

Until next week good luck from the boys at #O #Boats.
