The river has seen lots of bream around jetty’s and shallower water drop offs such as the Tewantin Marina and the frying pan. Prawns and mullet strips are the best baits when targeting bream. Down the river more towards Woods bay and the sound, there has been some reports of great fish including trevally, bream, whiting and tailor. When fishing in these areas, pilchards and mullet strips tend to produce the best results. There have been some ripper flathead caught this week anywhere between the Boathouse and the first ski run. Soft plastics are the best form of fishing when targeting flathead although worms will work also. The ski run has seen some nice catches at dusk and dawn preferably on the top of the tide. The crabbing has been pretty good lately with the water clearing up and the big tides. If you’re looking at dropping a pot this week try in spots such as Lake Weyba and Lake Cooroibah. There is clear weather forecasted, there’s no better time to get out on the water and drop a line
