Great Fun, Great Food, Great Adventure... a Great Day!!!

Noosa River Weekly Fishing Report

One of our intrepid perennial customers has been bagging around a dozen nice fish a day. Jim’s daily sample on display shows there is plenty of fish about.

The recent deluge of rain has stirred up things this week with a lot of hit and miss results. There was still strong activity inside the river mouth with whiting, flathead, bream and trevally the main varieties caught. The Woods Point had flathead moving through and the Woods Bay a good spot to land a few GT’s and bream. Live yabbies and worms are best baits if you can get some.

The Frying Pan is a good place to target whiting as is the sand flats off Munna Point and along the Noosaville reaches. Weyba Creek is also good for a few whiting, bream and the odd flathead and a few trevally around the back of Noosa Sound. Try a drift if anchoring up is no productive.

Moving up river there are good bream and flathead past the ski run and at the mouth of Lake Cooroibah. School jew are about between the top two lakes and some around the river mouth but please remember the black jew need to be 75cm minimum to keep. Try jigging with lures or plastics to attract some action.

After all the rain it’s well worth dropping in a couple pots for a muddie or two.

The weather is clearing up with only a possible early shower this week to once again see glorious sunny days so time to get out there and throw a line in.

Until next week good luck from the guys at Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventures.
