Noosa River Weekly Fishing Report

Harrison and Alannah up on holidays from #Sydney were chuffed to land a heap of chunky whiting on the Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventure tour.

At times when schools of baitfish are about there was plenty of action at the river mouth with plenty of flathead, tailor, trevally, and whiting feeding. As the baitfish moved up river the Frying Pan, Woods Bay and Gympie Terrace waters were also active with flathead, tailor, bream, whiting and trevally.
Up the reaches towards Lake Weyba we saw the same varieties being caught along with a few moses perch and estuary cod and up before Lake Cooroiba the same with the odd mangrove jack in the deeper holes and around structures.
There are still plenty of big whiting up to 40 odd cm active on the sand flats and best results are in the Noosaville reaches and on live sand worms.
Right up river between the top two lakes there are tarpon to be caught, jacks and the odd threadfin salmon and jewies on the prowl.
Both tides are fishing well with more action towards the top of each tide and less on the lower tide changes. Live baitfish, worms and yabbies always give you the edge but fresh prawns, soft plastics and lures are also worth a go.
There are still a few sand crabs around Weyba Creek and lower reaches.
There is the odd shower and late storm about this week with some windy periods however there is always plenty of safe calm waters to fish in the Noosa River.

Until next week good luck from the boys at Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventures.
