Young Jack from Brisbane was a brave lad holding up this nice big mud crab.
Thirty minutes later he provided the crew on the Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventure bout a nice tasting as he was steamed up in our special sauce.

Now the holidays are finished and the boating activity has subsided the fish might come back out and play more. Around the river mouth we have already seen good action on flathead, bream and some trevally and tailor. The Frying Pan is producing whiting flathead and bream and the Woods Point is worth a go for trevally, flathead and the odd tailor. Try the Woods Bay for cale cale, whiting and trevally also. The run out tide after a big high seems to be most active.
Behind Noosa Sound and up Weyba Creek is worth a look for flathead also and bream, whiting and estuary cod with some good jacks on the prowl into the night.
The Noosaville reaches are good for flathead and whiting in the shallows on the sand banks and live worms or yabbies are the best baits. Just after the ski run and before the car ferry is a hot spot for grunter bream, flathead and maybe the odd threadfin salmon. The entrance of the first lake has been also active with a variety of fish caught but most popular for grunter bream, good whiting, flathead and jacks in the deeper holes near the mangroves. A few school jew about too.
It’s worth taking a few crab pots too as the sandies are still running in Lake Weyba Creek and upriver a few nice mud crabs have been flushed out.
Just the odd shower or too about most of this week so plenty of good weather and fishing in between and the big tides are providing plenty of activity.
