Noosa River Weekly Fishing Report

fish report 2

37cm Bream caught on a handline using prawns, goes to show its not always the person with the best gear that lands the best fish.

This week has seen some fantastic catches throughout the river with the best a flathead to 1 metre caught and released along the Noosaville foreshore. The river mouth has seen a lot of flathead, bream and trevally. The woods bay has been on fire for the mangrove jack with one lucky angler boating three in one morning session. You have to be up early though as he was out at 4am and by 6am they went off the bite. Live herring and flesh baits were most successful. The Noosaville stretches to Tewantin have produced good catches of bream, flathead and grunter bream to 35cm on prawns and live worms. The fist lake is starting to clear up and trevally and flathead have been caught at the start of the lake. There are still a few sand crabs in the lower reaches of Noosaville and a few mud crabs still on the move throughout the river.

Until next week good luck from the boys at O Boats.
