Bream as always are around structures and deeper holes throughout the river. Although bream tend to feed on just about anything prawns and yabbies are preferred. There has been reports of some good size whiting caught around the dog beach and river mouth area particularly on sand flats and shallow water drop offs, with live baits such as beach worms and yabbies being the best. Woods Bay has been a popular spot with reports of some decent size flathead and tailor at the early hours of the morning and the late hours of the afternoon. Pilchard fillets and mullet strips have produced the best results in the Woods Bay area. There has also been reports of flathead around Makepeace Island. Soft plastics are best when targeting flathead. The weather seems mostly clear with some light winds over the weekend. It’s a great time to get out and enjoy the sun while it lasts.
Until next week good luck from the boys at O Boats.
