Just keep surfing: The Noosa Festival of Surfing continues with finals for many events being held today and tomorrow, Sat 15 March at First Point. Watch the action from the Beach Bar, open from 4-10pm today, Fri, and from 3-10pm on Sat, with live music. Tonight, see the Endless Summer 50th anniversary show, 7.30-9.30pm. Cafe Le Mionde hosts Band of Freaks from 10pm tonight and the after-party with Hi Boys and Pat Capocci on Sat, 9pm til late. See noosafestivalofsurfing.com

St Patrick’s Day: Go green and celebrate St Patrick’s Day on Mon 17 March. Miss Moneypenny’s in Hastings St has a $24 home-cooked Beef and Guinness pie with a Guinness or Kilkenny from lunch onwards. Sunshine Beach Surf Club has Irish meal specials all weekend, and on Monday, a special St Paddy’s beef and potato Irish pie and a can of Guinness for $19.90, plus there’s green ice cream when the kids order a kids meal for $9.50. Start the celebrations early this Sunday in The Green Room at The Imperial Hotel in Eumundi with live music from 1pm, prizes for best dressed, dance a jig to win a prize, find the gold leprechaun to win a $100 voucher, and join the Irish beer pong tournament from 2pm. The Irish fun continues on Tues 18 March at Halse Lodge, Noosa Heads with the Irish jam session from 7pm

Minefields and Miniskirts: Laugh and cry at this collection of stories, memories and songs from women in Australia who were affected by the Vietnam War.
