The river mouth has been firing with good catches of trevally, flathead, bream and the odd tailor with live baits such as herring and prawns producing the best results. Weyba Creek and the back of Noosa Sound is worth a try for mangrove jack around the structures using surface lures such as poppers. When targeting Mangrove Jack your best to fish at the early hours of the morning and the late hours of the afternoon. Bream as always are surrounding structures such as the boathouse and sound bridge. The best baits for bream include prawns and worms. Both tides are fishing well but if you can avoid the bottom of the low tide. There are a few sand crabs up towards Weyba creek and the Noosa sound area with whole mullet and reef fish frames providing the best results. The weather is a bit scattered with the odd shower rolling through. The best time to get out on the water is early in the morning.
Until next week good luck from the boys at O Boats.
